Project Description

This distinctive addition to the Texas captiol complex features Texas Sunset Red Granite cladding, an impressive rotunda, and a copper domed roof. Custom-cased bronze Glass-Fiber-Reinforced-Concrete (GFRC) panels conveying the story of Texas' history are an interesting architectural design feature. A 10-ton bronze star marks the entry way to the unique museum.

Scope of Services

CDC provided services to GFRC Cladding Systems, Cold Spring Granite, and Intrepid Stone Contractors. CDC was responsible for the stone cladding, the GFRC panel system, and the steel back-up system. CDC also provided shop drawings and structural calculations for the stone and stone support systems.
